Welcome to "Slashgeo's reprojection" :-) After 5 years running over the Slashcode engine, we just moved to Drupal. For the majority of you, it means we will continue to regularly publish geonews, but on a website that will, once we complete its configuration, provide more features and flexibility.
Important notes:
Alex, aka Satri, for the Slashgeo editors
Thanks - to be honest, this is the vanilla Drupal 6 theme.. we haven't done any major work on the site's look yet. That said, it may stay mostly like this for a while, since I like it too :-)
Regarding the banner of icons, rest reassured, it won't come back. *But*, I do plan to reuse the icons we were using on the old site (but not the banner :-).
I'm looking forward to the features to come.
A first suggestion: users don't have permission to contact you on your contact form.
Thanks. You're right... no idea why the contact form isn't accessible to all. Will investigate... thanks for pointing it out!
I changed the link to the site-wide contact form, which is now enabled and working fine. However, I can't find how to enable user-to-user contact forms. I'm keeping this issue for later... at least now people can easily reach us :-)
Ah, I see this is actually an issue in D6, there's a patch. But sitewide contact form makes sense anyway.
"We haven't migrated the old stories and comments to this new site yet", are the archives available anywhere?
Nope, not at the moment. All archives should be available in a few weeks at the latest... or at least that's the plan! :-) Thank you for your patience...
Good news, see this post, the archives are now back online.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for where the bio page is for my account? Thanks
just an advise from an (old) drupal user, be aware of "modulitis" and only install very well supported modules that integrates well with CCK or Views, for example, or the maintenance of the website will be a hell, beleive me.
Thanks for the wise advise! I was already planning to be conservative on using third party modules. We just don't have the time to test and play with too many modules: content is the priority.
That said, we will certainly add some useful modules in the future, including some that are geo-related (GeoRSS, embedded maps, etc) - while trying to keep in mind your advise! :-)
Is there a way to signup to this site so i can edit my profile?

User profiles are not enabled yet. This is in the to-do list but has a low priority.
First point raise by Alex ser profile is not yet enable, 2nd there must be feature in which user can make social network.
Re: Welcome to the new Slashgeo.org!
Thank you for getting rid of the trite esri-looking artwork/banner. Site looks much better.
