A colleague sent me a link to Google's MapStudio for MapGuide Open Source [google.com]:
"MapStudio Open Source is an editor for configuring MapGuide Open Source related data. It is written in C#, targeting the .Net FrameWork 1.1. It consists of a GUI application and a client library.

The application is a free open source alternative to the Autodesk© program MapGuide Studio©. The focus on the application is to create an expandable GUI client. The license is chosen as LGPL, so that commercial companies may add on proprietary extensions to the application, compiled as modules. The client library exposes the internal MapGuide XML as .Net classes, thus allowing easier modification with full intelli-sense© support.
